If you use your imagination, as you walk up the stairs you will see an artisan gift shop that sells one-of-a-kind artisan creations and unique gifts like handmade natural soaps, unique artisan jewelry, sculpture et cetera. This room will have enough space to hosts more than 35 artisans and small creative businesses. And guess what? They will be 100% local artists and artisans from the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area. In fact, we are not just going to sell their creations from our shop,  INKAA will work diligently to support these creative entrepreneurs by providing needed critical business services to them. Whether it’s building a website, connecting them with a mentor, researching opportunities, or helping them with social media, our mission is to help them become successful.

The Artisan Gift Shop- Attached to the artisan gift shop is an open, well-lit art gallery featuring the works of local artists and artisans. We are going to leave the exposed brick as is. Imagine a large painting or wall sculpture hanging on the brick wall or above the fire place. Well, guess what?  Every month this room will change to reflect a new them-based art exhibits. The art exhibits will be open to the public and are a great way to help empower emerging artists or to ignite that spark in the one person that use to be creative. Magic will happen in this room. February, you will see the artwork of local black artist! In March, in honor of Women’s History Month we will feature all local female artists.  Next April, the gallery will be loaded with the art work from young aspiring artists from the local schools system. And next May, my favorite month, you should expect a theme-based show honoring the Spring and Summer seasons.  This is PHASE II of our renovation efforts. This is where we need the most help.

The Classroom and Art Business Incubator Room

What do we need to finish this room?  This room is approximately 16f t x 22 ft.  This room still needs some type of flooring, preferably wood or carpet. This room has a  small window mounted air-condition unit but it does not work efficiently. We need one window.  We need a lot of display shelves for this room including locking glass cases if possible.  We need fire extinguishers, smoke detectors and a lighted exit sign. We would love to have a camera and security system installed on this floor to help protect our artists’ and artisans’ assets as well.

Consider this: This will be a new large gallery space. Hundreds of people will experience this space each month. This room is approximately  14 ft by 42ft. For a modest tax deductible donation you can help kill a few birds with one stone. You can help us finish up the new gallery space; we can began our monthly art exhibits and help more artists sooner than later; and YOU or your business can name and sponsor this room and be recognized forever. This is what we will utilize your donation for: fixing or installing new wood flooring, repairing the walls and the ceilings, installing new lighting and electrical outlets, installing an art hanging systems, installing new windows, installing smoke/fire detectors, and placing new tile on the existing fire place.  Check out our donor incentives or ask us how.

Working

today

For a better tomorrow

What do we need? This room still needs a window mounted air-condition unit, display shelves, a window, additional seating, track lighting, and an art hanging system so we don’t damage the plaster and brick walls any further.

In the back part, past the new gallery space, you will see a state of the art classroom and meeting room. Business meetings, private parties, fund at activities, girlfriend’s night out, live music, creative writing classes, after school programs, and a lot more will happen in this room. We will host art business seminars and forums in this room along with a large library of art related and art business related books. I can see a lot of chairs and  very long tables, a wall mount TV and  advanced presentation technology.  Oh yeah, the loft…. Above this classroom if you look up you will see a cozy loft area.

The loft will be a nice place to chill and enjoy the live music or poetry down below.  This will be the place where a business connection and networking will take place. The loft, will be a great place to do your homework or collaborate on a project. I can see a deep comfortable couch and some tables up there with nice ambient music in the background.

You will see enough display and storage space for about 25 collaborative members in the main room with the dark black floors.  We will build three affordable working studio spaces for those that need a place to create, grow, and move closer to their goals as creatives.

The Collaborative Gallery- Reserved display space and working studio space for collaborative members. This will be the main office space for INKAA Education Program. It has a secure storage area to store art and other items. The wooden floors were painted black to help salvage them. This room is almost done.  Above you will see the first phases of renovations from left to right and  the current state of this room in the slide show below.

Since being given a space to continue our work by restaurant and gallery owners Chef Baron Shirley and Dr. Christopher Green in June this is what INKAA Education Program  has been up to. We are still hoping to renovate the upstairs space above the Inspirado @the Madison Gallery.  We have a long way to go however the restaurant and the gallery downstairs are open, ready for business and present a world-class experience with eclectic global cuisine.
